All About Stainless Steel Lunchbots... Lead Free Products There is a consensus among public health experts that no amount of lead exposure is safe, especially for children. Lead exposure, even in tiny doses, has been linked to IQ deficits, behavioral problems, and many significant health issues. At LunchBots, we are committed to offering the safest, lead-free products.
Stainless Steel LunchBots lids and containers are manufactured from high quality, food grade, Type 304 stainless steel. Stainless steel is an alloy made from natural elements: iron ore, chromium, silicon, nickel, carbon, nitrogen, and manganese. Type 304 stainless is a composition of 18% chromium and 8% nickel, commonly known as 18/8 stainless.
Powder Coating The tops of the LunchBots lids have been powder coated to add color. Powder coating is a durable finish that does not emit any volatile organic compounds (VOC). The coating is applied electrostatically and then cured in an oven. Any overspray is recycled and reused. The bottom of each lid is not powder coated and is the natural color of stainless steel.
Lab Testing LunchBots have been independently tested by Metallurgical Laboratories in Concord, CA. They have certified that the Uno and Duo containers and lids are made from Type 300 series stainless steel and are lead-free.
